About F2F

The Family-to-Family (F2F) program channels financial
assistance from donors to war-affected families in
Tigray to help the families meet their basic needs.

F2F RATIONALE

The Global Society of Tigray Scholars and Professionals (GSTS) has launched the F2F program to provide monetary support to families in Tigray to help
them meet their basic needs where they are. The primary rationale behind facilitating such support is to enable Tigrayan families affected by the war to avoid
economic-induced displacement. Displacement has many negative and interrelated effects, including adverse effects related to the physical safety and comfort,
as well as the psychological well-being, of the displaced people. Displacement also leads to longer-lasting societal harms in the form of deteriorated, and even
broken, family and community ties, incapacity to secure livelihoods, and difficulties to access education and health services.

F2F Objectives

  1. Provide families in Tigray basic financial assistance from donors that:
  • Supports families to survive the war with financial aid and allows them to avoid displacement and to stay together, thus contributing to their safety and the maintenance of strong familial and societal ties;
  • Enables farmers to stay on their lands and cultivate in the coming season, thus contributing to famine prevention and lower mortalities due to starvation; and,
  • Helps families cover the cost of agricultural services, health services and children’s education, thus contributing to their health and their future.
  1. Create a central platform for all Tigrayans in the diaspora and in the rest of Ethiopia, as well as friends of Tigray everywhere to contribute to the survival and      recovery of the Tigrayan society.
  2. Raise funds from major donors, including foundations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other relevant institutions in order to further expand the      reach of the F2F program in Tigray.
  3. Facilitate the creation of strong bonds between donors and recipient families, thus enabling meaningful long-term relationships that will help to reinforce the        resilience of the war-affected Tigrayan society.
